The Personnel Committee has focused on reviewing and updating the MLPD Personnel Policy and drafting some changes to be presented to Council.

The other important task undertaken was to establish and ongoing, consistent and annual evaluation process for all staff positions. There is opportunity for staff to have a dialogue with the Personnel Committee Chairperson about their work at MLPD and for the Chairperson to reciprocate. Once this discussion has taken place both parties sign the evaluation forms and a letter from the Personnel Committee Chairperson summarizing what was agreed to is placed on the staff person's file.

This process has been adopted to increase the level of transparency in our employer responsibilities and to approach the work at the MLPD from a team perspective.
