The Personnel Committee has been actively engaged in reviewing our personnel policy and updating items where necessary. The MLPD was able to obtain funding from Employment Manitoba to hire a person with disability who was on EIA to provide support services to the office and the committees for almost a full year. Libby Zdriluk carried out these duties with enthusiasm and skill.

Near the end of this fiscal year, we have been focusing on developing a job description and starting the hiring process for a part time Provincial Coordinator. The goal is to have someone in this position as soon as possible. One of the main priorities of the coordinator will be to identify funding sources to keep the organization solvent!

We were fortunate enough to obtain a summer grant to hire someone to work on our Thumbs Up project. We are awaiting confirmation of other sources of funding to hire an access consultant to assist with the Thumbs Up initiative.
